A quiet archive of printable academic calendars
PrintCalendars is a small, opinionated project that produces printable academic and school-year calendars structured around the way US schools actually operate. The site exists for one reason: most calendar resources online are designed for the January-to-December civil year, but classrooms, registrars, parents, and teachers think in the August-to-July cycle. Forcing the school year onto a January grid loses the entire structure of the academic experience — when fall starts, when finals fall, when winter break interrupts everything.
Every layout on this site is generated from a single, audited dataset of US federal holidays per the OPM federal holiday schedule (defined by 5 U.S.C. § 6103) for years 2020 through 2035, combined with a canonical NCES-style two-semester academic structure that places the first day of class on the fourth Monday of August and commencement roughly one week after spring finals conclude.
Design principles
Print first. The grids are tuned to print cleanly on US Letter and ISO A4, in portrait or landscape, with no clipped edges or low-contrast type. Holiday shading uses warm amber that prints well in both color and grayscale.
Calm by default. No popups, no email gates, no floating buttons, no autoplay anything. The calendars and the dates that anchor them are the product.
Browse like a book. Every page links to its neighbors — months point to the previous and next month, years point to academic years that touch them, holiday pages link to every monthly calendar where the holiday appears.
Who uses PrintCalendars
